Default Scorrrrrrrrrrrrrre!!!!!!

Me and the missus going to see game 6 tonight in Big D. Hopefully to watch the Stars take one step closer to one of the greatest comebacks in sports history.

Only 3 teams, in any professional sport, have ever been down 3 games to none, in a 7 game series, and come back to win.
  • NHL -The 1942 Maple Leafs won 4 straight, defeating the Detroit Redwings after the Wings had them down 3 games to zip.
  • NHL - The 1975 islanders did the same thing to the Pittsburg Penguins
  • MLB - The 2004 Red Sox did it to the HY Yankees finally ditching the Curse of the Bambino
No NBA team has ever managed it. There have been 267 teams win a 7 games series in the NBA, NHL, and the MLB that have gone to a 3-0 lead, and only 3 teams have avoided losing after being down 0-3. Those are not good odds.

We Stars fans like to say it happens every 33 years in the NHL, because the Islanders did it 33 years after the Leafs, and here it is 33 years after the Islanders did it that we have our chance.

The odds are even worse though. The Wings have won 11 straight game 6s. My wife and I will be taking the short shuttle ride from our hotel to the arena tonight, and the clerk I spoke with this monring assured us we will have plenty of company . . . . all wearing Redwing red!

Here's some cool 7 game series stats.

My Mrs. is from the Detroit area - outside of it in the burbs.

I'm betting the Stars may just win tonight in Dallas.....but game 7 in Detroit... I think the Red Wings will win that.

Good luck Texas...You'll have fun I assured you.

But I'll be rooting for the guest team for game 6.

shud be a whale of a game.

It WAS a great game! It was not as competitive as we'd hoped but we are proud of our Stars. They had a great season and went much further than all the experts said they could.
Anytime you get to watch a live hockey game - even one you lose, it's a no-lose situation in our book. We had a blast.

Now we are pulling for the Redwings. They earned the right to represent our Western Conference in our quest for the cup and they earned it with fine play and class on and off the ice.
Go Wings!!!

SOOOOOO happy our Wings won! We have enough things to be down in the dumps about up here in Michigan as it is. Pistons are rocking now too, hopefully that goes well tonight! Now if the Tigers could figure out how the heck to turn the second highest payroll in MLB into at least a .500 season we'd be in GREAT shape!

And who? the puddy tats? oh, the Lions... lets not dwell on problems we cannot fix....

Glad you're a good sport, Texas Timbers.... if I recall my dad took the family a drive trip to idaho... Dallas was a pair of stops for something to eat [going there and coming back home].

I must say it was fun eating at Red Lobster with all those boots and 10 gallon hats, the other stop was early morning at [was it Pancake house?] dowtown Dallas and a pair of cops gave me some Cowboys NFl bugglegum cards. Big hwys there too.

Back to hockey... it may be Dallas Stars gave Detroit the best NHL could offer at this point. We'll see.

Glad you had fun....and you didn't fight in the stands....
