Default Rifle Scopes

A friend called me asking if I wanted a scope for my Marlin 60. It's a Winfield 4x15. I like the sport of just using sights. The Marlin has adjustable open rear, and a ramp front sight. The receiver is grooved for scope mounting, so there would be no modifications necessary. Thought I might try it out.

I can't find much data on this scope. Anyone know anything about it, or have suggestions on something better?

Default Was it a store named brand?

Like from Montgomery Wards, Western Auto, or Sears called their rifles JC Higgins and Glenfield. My all time favorite is Bushnell for the optics and the money, it's hard to beat. I have the Leopolds and they are $900 and more, but for a Marlin 60, a semi auto .22 almost any scope will be an improvement over iron sights, unless you are a crack shot.
I just bought a Marlin 60 from Dunham's with a Barska 4X Plinker scope at $34.95 on sale. If the Winfield scope is free, then why not. If it won't hold it's aimpoint, then give it back, no problem. I like a large optic scope, even for '22's since they gather more light and have a larger image. Just my experience, bill

If you're not making dust, you're gathering it. After I reread my own posts, I agree with myself even more.
