This is the way I do it. I set up a free account at Photobucket.com. You upload pictures from your computer to your account at Photobucket then link to the pictures from there by using the little square icon just above the quick reply box that looks like mountains with the sun above them.

Once you have uploaded your picture to photobucket you will need to click on the line below the picture that has the URL link. This will copy it and then you paste it in the box that pops up when you click the insert image icon above. Make sure that it has only one http// or it won't work.

I hope I explained that clearly enough.

Woodman, I always try to encourage members to post pictures using the forum software, and that way the pictures are on the site. If anything happens to another host site where the picture is located, like photobucket, then the link dies with the site, and that is much more common place than not.

Posting a photo here is easy, and wrapping text around the site is easy too (I just learned myself!).

I think it's time to post a sticky on how to do it.

Woodman, I just put up a Sticky in the Site Suggestions forum because we have had quite a few members have trouble doing it. In fact, member Nancy Laird recently schooled me on how to wrap text around a photo.

Go to the Site Suggestions forum and read her tutorial. It should give you all the info you need and you will not need to use photobucket.

If you want to attach images to the site try reading this thread: http://www.contractortalk.com/showthread.php?t=6001

They need to be 100kb or less but otherwise it's the best way.

banshee promoting your site is okay you can put it in your signature line and it will get seen in every post you make, but as stated above we are trying to discourage the use and promotion of offsite photo storage facilitities such as photobucket and imageshack.

Just a reminder for those that want to learn how to post images. It is much easier and alot more permanent to use the photo upload features here at woodworkingtalk.com

Sorry, I should have read all of the post. I just saw the photobucket post and remembered I had made a tutorial. And your right I have had images disappear from the free hosting websites. I didn't put it in my signature because I would have felt like a spammer and i hate them. anyways i visit this forum often because i'm new to woodworking and figure I should learn since i work on a tool site now. Eventually maybe i'll be able to contribute something worth reading. Thanks again for spending your time helping noobs like me
