Default New Grizzly GO514X2B Bandsaw w motor brake

Just gota new 19" Grizzly GO514X2B today, 14 phone calls and 2 delivery attempts later. UPS Freight has no clue. It rained for 4 hrs yesterday and quarter size hail...I was supposed to meet the semi at the main road with the tractor with forks to unload, in the rain and hail. They brought a straight truck with a lift gate instead and knocked on the neighbor's door, no one home, left with the saw. UPS came back today. straight truck and lift gate, not needed however, tractor worked fine. Too tall to pass under 6'8" door, tipped it onto the hand truck, got it inside..finally. Nice quality, lousy instructions, don't read them unless I'm "stumped" No parts left over. Will do electrical this weekend 16amps @ 220v single phase. ... bill

That's a nice looking machine! I'm sure you'll get a ton of use out of it.

I have the same saw. I absolutely love the saw. Mine was delivered by FedEx freight. The driver and a neighbor helped me roll it into the garage. (Yes we had to tip the saw to get into the garage.) The driver was so helpful that I tipped him for his help. He wouldn't accept it so I put it on the floor of the cab of the truck and told him that I found the ten spot and that he needs to be more careful with his money. :)

Default I didn't tip my driver,

Since I was relieved to just get the saw on the ground. But I did "Google Earth" a aerial view of his next stop about 10 miles away on back roads He was very thankful and impressed! I can't believe they don't provide cell phones to the drivers UPS Freight, that is.They could at least call the recepient to get directions, which my guy did and I talked him in and my son met him at the main road on a 4 wheeler. And they don't use GPS to find addresses. Just rely on directions from the "appointment" clerk...who has no clue. My main road has a 11 ft height limitation because of a lowbridge underpass, so you have to go to London to get to Chicago sort of. I did tell the guy to suggest they use Google Earth in the employee suggestion box and keep all the money, kinda like a tip, well actually a tip, but not a monetary one...yet.
Seaking of "tips" Google Earth is free and can be downloaded at www.googleearth.com
It's the best finding method I have come across since I like the aerial views that show parking lots, circle drives, all buildings in scale and all the roads are named. I highly recommend it! bill
BTW I wired up the saw and fired it up...man what a sweet saw! Top of the line! They did provide a crummy blade with a "tick" in it as it goes around from an uneven weld grind. BUT I got the good Timblerwolf blades 3 TPI x 3/4 wide. Also 12" of exposed blade whirring by it just a tad scarrry!
BTW 2 That motor brake is awesome, one of the main reason I chose this model! And it stops cold in about 1 or 2 seconds. Almost like a saw stop but not as quick on the draw, and it won't save your fingers, but my other saw takes a few weeks to eventually stop, Mini Max 18".

Nice saw Bill. Try Bing Maps their maps are a lot newer then Google Earth. Google Earths picture of where my house and subdivision are supposed to be is 5 yrs old and just cleared land. I know this because Bing maps has images that are like a year old. 200 houses and 2 lakes in my subdivision that don't exist on google.

My old house that was destroyed in Hurricane Katrina and almost all the houses demolished and hauled away are still on the google images. Jusy my .02

Well I just checked my old house on Bing Maps and it is just as old as Google. I guess it depends on the location.

Default Jraks here's the saw we all like so much

Apparently a few of us have fallen for the sweeheart deal and ponied up the bucks to get it. Still setting up the shop for mine. Got the lighting up. What a difference! The supply outlets are wired in. Next step is clear some space..... bill
