Default A few pics of my neighborhood

I posted a snow pic a while back and just wanted to show that it's not always winter here. We only have two seasons...winter and fire season. I took these last summer.

In the first picture it's hard to see, but I live in a small community about in the center between the two cloud shadows.

In the last two I put the camera on a tripod and used the cameras timer for shutter release to do self portraites. Only did it to show scale.

(I may be responsible for a lot of the Bigfoot rumors in this area.)

Hey Daren,
Thanks for your comments.

The pics I posted of the dogs were taken about 90 miles east of here. A different climate, an area known as the high desert.

Here is a picture of the view we had from where I was at with my dogs in the other post.

Hi Larry,

I used to live at Kooskia, Id. At that time I had to drive a truck for a living. I spent a lot of time in southern Idaho.

Thanks for your comments,

So where are you - your profile doesn't say where you live. Some of those look like Montana or Wyoming - others look like NM or Arizona. Maybe Oregon???

Ron, I thought I remembered that middle and eastern Oregon are sort of desert-like. I guess I guessed right, huh? So is it Oakridge, Crescent Lake, or McCredie Springs? (MapQuest is great!! )

That's partly why I left chi-town 26 years ago and put down roots in Oregon. Never looked back, either. I don't live where Ron lives, but across the Valley and north, against the foothills of the Coast Range. About 2 1/2 hours from his area. It's pretty sweet.

It is beautiful there. In another life I drove truck for a living from Wisconsin to the west coast 3 times a month and got to know the Northwest fairly well. Oregon and Idaho surprised me the most of any state I've been in with their beauty.
