I lost my dad about twelve years ago too. I'll hoist a beer to both of them.

Cheers Mr.Williams! Way to keep his legacy alive jp...

I'm envious of those of you who've had a great relationship with your father.

Mine was far from stellar, but I'm working on it. I had to let go of a lot of the past and focus on the aging man I see now. My wife and I visited him on the fourth for a cookout and I was watching him play with our son. He took him for a ride on the loader, picked him up and let him collect the eggs from the hen house, etc. My son lit up and so did my dad.

I think he gets it now, what he didn't back then. There is more to life than being a workoholic. One of my biggest worries in life was if/when my dad left this place, would I care?. It's a horrible thing, but I see a different man now, and I can muster up the courage to at least acknowledge the things that I can say I'm proud to have acquired from him. He's an alright guy, what can I say he's French Canadian...

cheers

I lost my mother when I was 16. My father passed away in 1977. He was too ill to ever see my shop. However we feel about our parents, they were our parents. It makes us think about how our children will think of us.
