Default A couple of good deals

Hi guys,

I know most of you know this, but for the newbees, like me, this may help:

My local Home Depot has the Dewalt DW713 Heavy-Duty 10-Inch Compound Miter Saw on sale for $175, it's normally $220. I picked one up. It's a great "no-frills" miter saw.

Also, you can use this link: (lowes moving) for 10% off purchases up to $10,000 from Lowes. It's a moving coupon for foreclosed houses. I just entered a bunch of fake addresses and printed out a big stack of the coupons. (I think Home Depot has a policy to use all Lowes coupons so you may be able to get that miter saw for under $175.)

Also it seems that Lowes prices are all about equal to Amazon's, so you can get whatever dirt cheap at Lowes using the coupon too. For new tools, I haven't had much luck with eBay, because with shipping it usually ends up being just about the same price or more expensive than just walking into the store and using my 10%-off coupon. I live in the middle of nowhere so Craigslist doesn't fare well for me (unless I want to drive 2-3 hours.)

Anyway, hope this helps save a few bucks.

I'm sure we all appreciate your efforts and your desire to save us money. But now that you admitted (in writing) to an illegal act, it's punishable with 3-5 years in Federal prison (Lowes is multi-State).

Ha! No joke right? :)

For me, it's payback because the cashiers are always *so slow*! I figure my savings with the coupons makes up for all the lost time of standing in line at the big box stores.

yeah, crime can always be justified by self-check-out lanes or poor customer service. Next time you use a coupon, ask yourself "would I be justified in stealing this $10 tape measure since I am buying a $100 tool?" That is exactly what you are doing, flat out theft. Imagine how you would feel if a Lowes employee walked up and just took some money out of your wallet and excused it by saying "this is just to make up for all the customers that take advantage of us."
Part of the reason our country is in the state its in is due to the "flexible" ethics/morality of many of us.

Lowes offers 10% off for many different reasons. You can go by the post office and get a moving packet and get 10% off coupons from Lowes. They also offer 10% off to veterans, etc. It doesn't do any good to sensationalize the use of a coupon and declare it as theft.

Sorry, you are right, it isn't technically "theft" it is "FRAUD", it is unethical and wrong. Just because it is a coupon doesn't mitigate the fact that you had to lie in order to obtain it and are not abiding by the conditions of the offer and are using it to obtain a benefit you are not legally entitled to. Since they also offer the 10% to veterans, why don't you just make a fake veterans ID and use that to get your 10% off... oh wait, that would once again be fraud and illegal (but hopefully easier to see why it is wrong). Maybe it seems I am making a big deal out of nothing, but this type of behavior is equivalent to shop-lifting, you are using deceit to obtain a product without paying full price. This hurts everyone since companies must charge more to the rest of us to make up for losses due to theft and fraud.

That may be a way of rationalizing away guilt but it doesn't change the nature of the deed

Get real man. I am sure there are things you do that others would say are morally wrong.
