Got lucky today. Caught Iggy, or who we also call the Igster, one of our wild Iguanas on some shrubbery. This guy is about 18" long tail and all.

We have a few of them around our place also. First time we saw them is when we were looking at our big plump tomato plants and then all of a sudden the bush moved and bit a whole tomato off the bush and walked into the woods/jungle. Really amazing to see them wild like that.

Pretty cool. The only iguanas running around here are in terrariums.

stealing tomatoes, huh. We have the same thing but they have long furry tails. I'll bet they got half of last years crop before we could get any. Wife started pulling tomatoes when they first runed pink, so the squirrels couldn't get them.

They're mostly going for the lettuce I put in, but seeing as I'm not exactly the best gardener in the world I dont mind all that much. I did put an tomato plant in, but I'm not sure where, so I hope it grows up tall so I can tell it apart from some of the weeds that showed up. Definatly not the worlds best gardener. I mostly just started to get out of the house a little.

Do Iguana's go for Tomatoes?

I've watched the beasts in my backyard, and they seem to be just vegetarians (leafy stuff). But a friend of mine has one about 6' long that picked his backyard as home and just loves tuna fish sandwiches.

I am here to say that IGUANAS DO EAT TOMATOES. It was a very large one. Just like the tuna fish sandwich I am sure they would eat whatever there was in front of them if they were hungry enough. Wouldnt you?

Yep, I would! Fair enough, any little critter that likes tuna fish and tomatoes is ok with me, but I'll try and keep him out of the kitchen.

That is a nice picture. I hope Iggy gets along with all the rest of the pets in the neighborhood.

Nice one, but how'd you like one of these critters crawling around. It's a Weta and should qualify to join the furum 'cos it loves wood (to eat).

That looks like a big 'ole grasshopper. His legs look like they are on backward. Kinda cute, but they go "squish" when stepped on.
