I live in Prairieville, La and it was 100 degrees yesterday and in the upper 90's most all of last week. I spent over 2 hours last weekend cutting grass and was soaking wet from sweat and exhausted when I finished...and I was just sitting on my lawnmower the entire time! Last summer my wife and I were traveling in Death Valley and the temperature was 121 but it did not feel as miserable as 100 degrees here. It's all what you are adapted to.
The best decision I made was to air condition and insulate my barn/workshop. I can comfortably work regardless of the heat. I remember too many times in past years before my current workshop having to fight to keep sweat stains off of my wood. Salty sweat stains many types of wood.
