Default Walnut Bookcase

This is a small bookcase from a walnut tree that my dad helped me harvest. It is pretty satisfying to see the wood from log to bookcase.

The stain is a red Minwax with a Satin Poly finish. I used stainless steel screws to hold the legs onto the shelves. I cut plugs to cover the screws. It is a nice simple project for a weekender like myself.

It stands about 35" tall and is 24" wide with 7" deep shelves. The picture angle skews the view but the shelves are equal distance apart at about 9.5".

Very nice!! And, the red tint over the walnut looks very classy - I'll have to remember that for future walnut projects. Good Job

Beautiful Job. It's a good feeling to take a tree from standing to a finished piece of furniture. I built a display case from trees cleared from my lot.
