Default Some new stuff...

These are some of the nicer jobs I've done over the last six months. I know we all like the natural stuff on this site...but painted pays the bills just as well...

This was a brand new house that only had narrow casing around this giant opening. I built the wing walls in the shop and slipped them onto the ends of the walls. They fit like a glove and it saved me some time. The columns I fluted myself so that the flutes would stop before meeting the ajoining trim, there are two full, and two half columns.
The ceiling are nine foot so I had plenty of room to go big and chunky with everything, including the beefed up crown and scribe molding on the ceiling.

This room was added to the house for the soul purpose of having a mudroom. I build a lot of these and this one was pretty cool. Even this tiny corner didn't go to waste where we built this narrow tower of cubbys. The tray ceiling was a last minute decision before the room got sheetrocked and paid off nicely by giving a small room a little more visual space.

Same room, more cabinets and coat rack.

Basement e-center. All my built-ins lately have been to accomodate the new HD flat screens. This job almost didn't go smooth because I forgot about the little soffet in the left corner of the celing. No problem, just lop six inches off the top of the uppers and convince the customer that a straight line looks better than a notched corner with funny looking crown.

The wide angle lens distorts the photos a bit so no, it's not leaning

That's it, off to the next one...

Awesome work, Dad...I like the placement of the door pulls on the cubbies in the mudroom....quite logical and symmetrical, very pleasing to the eye...beautiful stuff.

I see your public name lists you as p.t. off-roader. Would that be in a Jeep, by chance? I have some Jeep pics from Badlands in Attica, IN on my picasa page at http://picasaweb.google.com/smitty1967/ if you care to take a look.

again, great pics of great work.

Hey Smitty, I can't believe you noticed the knobs...or I should say, I can believe from a fellow craftsman. Most people don't get the logic till they look at it again.

No Jeeps, just two wheels and the tighter and nastier the more fun. I was tempted to set up a 97 Cherokee Sport that I picked up as a run around vehicle for off road, but I know how much money I've dumped into my bikes, so I can't imagine how much I would have needed for that...Paragon was/is the big place out this way for four wheels. I'm pretty sure most of it may have closed down so the township could build a cargo airport...

Very nicely done. I've never seen shoes hung like that before, great idea.
