Default One thing led to another

I had some 13" long angled strips of Kingwood and Yellowhart left over from my last project. They were about a half inch wide. I got to tinkering, gluing, cutting and regluing until I had a flower. Then I saw I had enough pieces to make 3 flowers. Each flower has 25 pieces, yes it took a while. Then I needed a vase and I saw a small chub of spalted apple. So this is the result, the vase is about 5" in dia. It made an early Chirstmas gift for the LOML

That is a neat project that evolved from a little thinking. I really like it.

Ohio Ron That's some good thinking you did there. I like your flowers and the vase. That was a vrey good use of left over wood.

I love it. Got to put this in the project showcase. Don't know why you didn't. Any woodworker worth his salt knows how much work went into it. This kind of project is one that consumes you, in a good way.

Ron,
Pretty cool. I can't tell what you used for the stems, but I would hold them in front of the tea kettle for a few minutes and see if I could get the stems to bend a little to get them to look like a flower stem with a little curve in it. Nice job,

Thanks for the idea, I'll give it a try on dowel first, then on the vase stem, if the lady of the house will allow me
The stems are tiny dowels, smaller than I could possibly do on my mini lathe.
