Very cool. One day I will hopefully have grandkids that I can make toys for. Much higher quality than the crap you get in the stores. Great job!! They look pretty intense on the back hoe. I'm sure that they just love it.

Thanks for looking and commenting, guys.

The little guy, Sam, is 4 and his sister, Ella, is 2. She likes it as much as he does. She just doesn't quite have the lever movements figured out yet. Sam figured it out in about a minute.

They're all headed for Kadena AFB on Okinawa in a few weeks. Guess I'll disassemble it and ship it when they get settled. Probably have to clean out all the diesel and drain the crank case, first.

That is neat. I think he would enjoy it on Kadena, plenty of sandy beaches with which to use it on. Heck, he can start contracting out with the other kids to build sand castles for them! It's about the size of some of those Japanese backhoes anyways. I hope they enjoy it over there, it's a beautiful place.

I was a crew chief in the AF and we landed there for about 6 hours at night. On the way to Cambodia. Osan AFB Korea on the way back. Even in the dark, I liked Kadena better.
We plan a visit to Okinawa in 2 years.

That's really cool! And it looks like the kids love it. Nice work.

I'm not military, but I spent a few years in Japan teaching English. It was a great experience. I'm sure it will be for them, too.

Gene, I was on Camp Courtney, which is part of the Marine base there. I think you will enjoy your visit. Your family should have some good spots scoped out by then, but I was always prefered the north end of the island to the south. There is a lot of stuff to see there.

That's too cool. I would have played with that all day when I was a kid. I doubt it would hold my attention for more than 5 or 6 hours now though.
