Default Arbor

I figure it's about time I posted one of my projects. Let me preface this by saying I am a complete amateur who has learned everything I know by trial and error.

Crossbars are up!

Roof is on!

Just because I like the view =)

Finished with benches.

Great work, Lucas! Man, I tell you what...there are definately two types of finesse in woodworking. There's dealing with a 1/64th of an inch when you're trying to get a miter or a joint to close up, and then there's dealing with big timbers like you have, and getting them all square, true and plumb.

I bet you earned a few coupons with the Mrs., yes?

Good work, good on you....you have definately accomplished a great task!

Darn nice!, Lucas. I really like the arched look. And the posts are great! What is that, two-bys tacked to either side of a 4X4 post? Good Job!

For goodness sake REMOVE THOSE PICS BEFORE MY WIFE SEES THEM!

Okay seriously, that looks great! I bet that is the type of piece that only looks better as it ages too...

It's actually 2- 2x4's and 2- 2x6's attached to a treated 2x4. I wanted the treated lumber in the ground, but didn't want to see it. I was going to use 4x4's, but it ended up looking to bulky.

Thanks for all the kind words =). It's projects like these that convince my wife to let me keep spending money on this hobby.

I think it looks great.

Are you planning on having any plants growing on it, or are you leaving it natural?

I like it the way it is, but the wife wanted something. So, I planted clamattus (or however you spell it lol) at the base. You can see it starting to climb up in the last picture.
