Default Would anyone buy a left handed lathe?

Back around 1986, I bought one of those el cheapo Duracraft lathes (which I still have), but try as I might, I just couldn't use it in the conventional configuration, so I cut a section out of the belt shroud, moved the bed over so the head was on the right, and used the outboard faceplate as the inboard and vice versa. Never had to mod the casting.

I'm wondering, if I designed and cast around a dozen of my own lathes exclusively for left handed configuration (I can also machine spindles and bearing journals), would anyone want them? Obviously I don't have visions of flooding the market with thousands of them, just a very small number of well-made machines to take a 3/4-1 hp motor.

I would try posting this question in the woodturning section. I think you'd get a better response.
