Default Where do you buy your router bits?

Hi,

Yesterday I was looking for a 2 inch straight raised panel bit and it took me a while to find it for the right price on line. It made me wonder where do oyu guys get your bits. I know rockler is a good source ( I bought there 2 bits to cut groves for 1/2 and 3/4 inch ply since ply is not actually the dimensions stated).

I also looked at Woodline.com. What are other good sources for bits?

I buy mine where I buy my lumber or a tool company just down the road. Both are small, independent operations but the quality of service (and joke-telling) is great. One place sells Whiteside, the other Amana. Both are a little pricey but I just feel better about giving the guys that give me attention a few extra bucks.

I buy mine from
Rockler, Woodcraft, both at the stores or online. I also buy them from Lowe's. I don't buy them from HD because they are locked and you have to get someone to get them out for you. I do know that Whiteside bits are supposed to be of really good quality. I have purchased them from Eagle as well. I try to find them on sale of course. I saw a raised panel set at Lowe's one time for four dollars that was originally 95 dollars!

Holbren has very good prices on Whiteside bits. Use one of his discount codes and you'll get an additional 10% off of the prices shown.

I just looked up a Whiteside straight cutting bit that I bought locally for about $20. From Holbren it is $12 Seems like a much better place to get them from if you can wait for the shipping. Thanks for the website.

MLCS has great bits, good pricing, free shipping, and top notch customer service.

Some of my older bits came from Sears (bad idea), Lowes, Home Depot, and Ace Hardware...

Most of my recent purchases have come from Holbren...usually the premium US made Whiteside bits, but their Holbren housebrand is as good as any import budget bit I've used. I also have some bits direct from Infinity that are excellent. Amazon puts the Freud bits on sale sometimes. I've had some good dealings with Eagle America (Price Cutter) too. Several of my earlier bits were from MLCS, Woodcraft and Grizzly, but as they've dulled I tend to replace with Whiteside, Freud, Infinity, Price Cutter, CMT, or even MLCS's "Katana" line.
