Default what is a good cfm

i am looking at getting a air filtration system. i have a small shop, 1 car garage with a ten foot ceiling, so my question is around what cfm do i need i figured like 1250

John,
If you are speaking of the air filtration systems that hang from the ceiling, they usually tell you what size area they will work for and how many air changes per hour they would provide. I have a delta three speed unit, don't remember the cfm, but I paid around 279.00 for it a few years ago. My shop is roughly 26' x 28' with just over ten foot ceilings and it does a good job. It came with a remote control also, that lets you change speeds and put it on a timer.
