I am hoping someone can provide information on a mechanical speed control unit I aquired with an old (circa mid 1950) Sears drill press (model No. 103.23141). The press was in pieces and I now have it functional. One part that didn't make it back into the unit is some sort of speed control which is in pieces.
The face plate gives a name of "Vari-Slo Speed Control". It has several castings, two of these appear to be primary castings which are contected by two arms. There are two pulleys which have sliding center fanges between the end flanges and two shafts. Also, there are several additional arms which appear to be for fitting to the shafts in some manner and seveal small pins that appear to be sized to connect components.
This is all I can provide in terms of information I am able to provide. Any help in finding information on this unit would be greatly appreciated.
