Default Table Saw Fence for older Jet Saw

I just picked up a new table saw today off craigslist. Actually an older used saw - Jet JSL-10TS. Tried it out and liked it but the fence leaves alot to be desired. Any reconmendations on buying an aftermarket fence and how can I figure out if it will fit. Prefer to keep the price down if possible.

Thumbs up

Bald Guy - Congrats on the new saw! If your Jet saw is a standard full size cast iron saw (27" deep), it should be able to accommodate most any aftermarket fence. Some drilling may be required, but cast iron drills quite nicely. A good fence can make a huge difference, but don't overlook a decent saw blade too.

One of the better bangs for the buck IMO is the Delta T2 steel t-square fence that many dub the "Biese Lite". It's ~ $150-$175.

Biesemeyer is an excellent fence, but tends to run in the $350 range new, unless you find a crazy sale or a used one. There are many good copies of this design available. (HTC, Jet, PM, Shop Fox, etc)

Grizzly sells the Shop Fox the "Classic" and the SF "Aluma Classic", both are good steel t-square Biesemeyer type designs, both a bit less expensive than the true Biesemeyer counterparts. The Aluma Classic has slightly smaller tubing similar to the Biese Home Shop fence and has aluminum faces, the "Classic" is compatible with the stnadard Biese and has UHMW plastic faces.

The Vega fence Vega fence is also an excellent design, that can be a great value on sale.

You might check Ebay or the wwing classifieds on forums like this. You should be able to sell whatever fence came with your saw to offset some cost.

Good luck!
