Cool Spiral Planer Cutterhead Retofit to Jet 15"

I have a rarely used, 8 yr old, Jet 15" thickness planer, model JWP15CS. It has 1 or 2 hrs total on it. (I primarily use my really old, 25yrs. Belsaw 15" planer with the rubber drive rollers, which seems more forgiving when planing wood with slight variations in thickness. The thing just won't quit!) I am considering replacing the cutterhead on the Jet 15", with the BYRD helix cutterhead no. H7768 from Grizzly at $600. It's supposed to give a finer finish than the stock 3 blade cutter. I would use it more if this were the case. The new Grizzly spiral head 15" planer G0453Z is $1500 plus $140 shipping for reference.
Has anyone first hand experience with a spiral cutter head planer jointer?
Has anyone changed out the cutter head on a Jet 15" planer? How difficult is it?
Any response would be appreciated. bill

Smile Awesome, Guy! Thanks....

Where do you live and do you make service calls?...heh...heh I suppose I'd need to find the manual and read it for a few days.... hmm. Oh, well I'm not usin' it now anyway, Does this sound like "basket case" to you or could I do this myself? I can type can't I? Well, that's exactly the kid of reply I was hoping for. Now where's my stimulus check I am hoping for also? Just got to thinking...would this be like putting a Ferrari engine in a Gremlin? bill
PS. where does the name "goats" come from...GTO?..or do you raise 'em?
