Question Powermatic PM15 Planer/Molder

I inherited this fine piece of equipment, however I am having difficulty
adjusting the infeed and outfeed rollers when running molding operations. Seem to either under adjust or over adjust to the point of gouging the rollers. The manual is fairly specific regarding planing procedures but left out guidance or suggestions on how to obtain a "default" setting for said rollers. Anyone with experience in this area?
Thank you in advance for your reply!
