Default powermatic jointer import or domestic

Hi I want to finally buy a great jointer and like used tools. I have a US made powermatic table saw from '91 and a off-shore 15" powermatic plainer from '97, and although the plainer works pretty well it does not seem to be as quality a unit as the saw. So in looking for a PM 6 or 8 inch jointer should I limit my search to an older US made tool?

I have a newer (2004) PM54A, and have had no problems. I check the surfaces periodically, and have had no alignment issues or significant warping.
