Default Planer / Jointer knife question

Apologise in advance if this is a stupid question.
Will treated wood prematurely dull planer / jointer knives ?
Yes, I know that breathing the dust is to be avoided.
Thanks

You`re right about the dust and pine can leave a pappy residue that needs to be cleaned from the knives after planing. I really don`t see any problems planing treated lumber...I`m not sure what kind of feed rollers you have...but would also clean those after planing with solvent. Rick

Just curious 99, (sounds like Maxwell Smart),
What are you building out of treated lumber that needs to be planed and/or jointed?

Doesn`t "need" treated lumber, had some 4x4`s left over from building an outdoor shed. Needed sturdy legs for a RAS stand and thought I`d do it on the cheap but still make it look a little more finished. Doesn`t matter now, as I`ve changed the plan.
My concern with knife life comes from jointer directions warning against using lumber with a high moisture content. Since treated lumber is infused with liquid chemicals I wondered if it qualifies as "damp" .

EDIT: Enjoyed your bookcase over in "projects"
Very nice, evidently your weekends have more hours in them than mine. That would take this
newb at least a week ! Maybe more...

Thanks 99.
Some of my projects go quicker than others, depends on the mood I'm in and if I am organized that day or not. Sometimes I forget to do something and have to reset a machine setup again. The good thing is, no matter how long it takes me, if I am out in the shop, it's never a race, just a good time.

Treated lumber is drenched at best. Older treated lumber was treated with Arsenic. Wood treated after 03 or 04 is treated with Chlorine. Chlorine is a caustic towards steal. You can plain treated wood on your jointer/plainer, just clean your tool very well after use.
