Default Opinion on router

I am looking at the Porter Cable 9690lr on sale at Lowes. I have been unable to find any reviews on this router. I have heard that it is the latest version of their 690 router which got good reviews. It has basically the same specs. Anybody know anything about this router?

BTW, I have a gift card at Lowes, which is why I am not shopping for one elsewhere.

Thanks for the help

I don't know anything about it but did find one review on Amazon...

The reviewer said he disliked the lack of a soft start, which I can agree with. Other than that, it sounds like a decent router.

The designation 9690LR for this router is as follows: 9= case included. 690LR= 1 3/4 hp router w/ lever controlled base for setting bit height. It is a 690 router (very capable) with the case.
