Default New tool. GREAT buy...

I have an old BBQ pit that has some wood pieces that are attached using countersunk "pocket" type screws. I have been trying to replicate the pieces by hand, but have been unsuccesful. Today while cruising HD looking to pick up a saw blade for a friend's recip saw, I stumbled on a General Tool Pocket Screw Jig. This thing is as they say, Da Bomb. I tried it out toinght on scrap 2x4s and it cuts the PERFECT screw pockets. I can't wait to find excuses to use it!

Ahh yes, the all aluminum one. I had a feeling it could wear out with any heavy used as the steel drill bits will wear the holes out. for light work it looks ok... but if you have alot to do I'd opt for one of the Kreg Jigs that have the steel drill bushings in them.

Light use, for now. Heavy use later on. I see the Kreg screws all over the place, but never the jig... Can you guys suggest where to find one? I can see myself using this a lot.

Hmmm.... I remember we carried the Kreg jigs when I worked at Ace Hardware back in the day... I wonder if they still do... Hadn't thought of them.

i've seen them at Lowes and Menards. i haven't been to Home Depot in a while. you can get them plenty of places online if you don't need that instant gratification of walking off with product in hand.
