mortise tool vs. drill press with mortise attachment
I am planning to buy a drill press soon (12" needed) and am looking for info on the mortise attachments that can be bought for a press vs. buying a dedicated a mortise tool. Ideally I don't want to have two tools that are almost redundant if good results can be had with one, versatile tool.
With that said are the mortise attachments for drill presses sold today worth their price or do they do a poor job? Any suggestions for the ideal combo (bench-top, 12" type) or suggestions for a good drill press and a good mortise tool?

You could also use your drill press, a forstner bit, and chisel. I have no experience with the mortise attachments for a drill press, but see them for sale regularly cheap. I have the HF mortiser, and not really in love with it either, since I bought the Mortise Pal.
