Is it called a vacuum clamp? When you put a veneered piece into a bag and suck the air out, thus acting as a full surface clamp?
Anywayz... A buddy of mine has a super powerful vacuum pump, which he used for a science project when he was in high school, to create a near complete vacuum inside a thick glass container. The thing weighs about 80 lbs. and works really slow, but man does it work!
I was wondering if I could use this pump, along with 6 mil polyethelene tarps (the kind you buy at any hardware or paint store) to make a vacuum clamp. Would it work?
