Default Dewalt Tracksaw

Has anybody got a chance to see the Dewalt tracksaw in action? This is a neat tool and is relatively new in the U. S.

I've just seen the video. I want one but with work being slim to none it will have to wait.

Default Dewalt Track Saw

I saw one at the Woodworing Show last weekend.

They cost as much as a Festool and I think the Festool is a much higher quality product.

Default actually....

Actually you can make your own with an old skill saw, an 8' angle strait edge, a few pieces of scrap stuff. A little tweaking and a grid support on saw horses you'll be off to very accurate cuts on plywood that are extremly straight and square.....I made mine in a few hours and I've used it for the last 5 years.......

Festool, never look back. Yellow tools suck.

I'll second that, get the original (Festool) it's a great piece of equipment.

The DeWalt doesn't have the non - skid bottom on the track, so you have to clamp everything down. More time, more money lost....

I read in PW today about 3 types. Festool, Dewalt and Makita. I had never heard of Makita having one until then. Festool saws will fit on the Makita.

Default TrackSaws

Out of the Festool, Makita, and Dewalt track saws, I would have to say that Festool is my first choice because of the quality and precision of the saw. My second choice would be the Makita because it so comparable to the Festool saw. And lastly, the Dewalt because the action on the saw is too choppy for me. It also doesn't seem to run as smoothly on the track as the other two saws.
This article gives a thorough breakdown of the Festool and Dewalt saw that is interesting.
