Wonderwood,
sounds like it's time to flip the blades or replace them. When they get dull, the wood won't self feed without help. That's the simplest thing to do. If that isn't it, then it's time to check the feed rollers and see if you have a problem there.

Thats the reason i cringe everytime i see someone touting one of the new dewalt planers

we could hardly get through the light milling we did per house in finish carpentry and the blades needed flipped. Softest darn things i have run into.
