Default blade will not turn

I have had an old sears 103-20003 table saw. When I start to cut any wood, the blade stops turning. I have replaced the belt, increased tension and inserted a new blade. I believe it has something to do with the shaft the blade attaches to .

Sounds like one of the sheaves is slipping.

Does the motor continue to run? Can someone
watch these while you try to cut?

What ever is slipping should get warm, you could
check for heat after stopping and unplugging the
saw.

I think some old saws required a fiber washer on
each side of the blade. The drive washers had a
lip the blade fit over.

Default Old Craftsman saws are notorious for loose pulleys

I had to tighten mine every 6 mos. Once they get loose on the arbor shaft it's hard to get them to fit again, so they need to be replaced. Also look for a missing key in the keyway. When they get loose they throw the keys into the sawdust and they can only be found with a magnet.
Aside from the above post where the motor is at fault, the arbor is the only thing left. Either the blade is loose on the arbor or the pulley is spinning, not much left. bill
