Default Biggest motor on a bandsaw

I have a 14" bandsaw with a 3/4hp motor but I would like to upgrade to a little more hp. What size can I go up to in order to keep it within a 110 outlet.? I use this saw for resawing.

Is it a 15 amp plug with 14 gauge wire or 20 amp plug with 12 gauge wire?

Look at the amp rating of the motor, not the HP.

Have you started with the right or at least good blades? That it just as important as motor size.

If you're determined to remotor then 2 hp will draw around 20 amps at start up. It will also weigh around 60 lbs so make sure the saw mount can support it. Anything larger than 2 hp will have to be 220 vac.
