Default Anybody Recognize this Delta Table Saw Model?

Let me start off by saying I'm a big fan of the site and this is my first post. All of the info here helped me a lot with tuning my new radial arm saw.

I'm now looking for a new table saw, on a budget of course. I found the pictured Delta table saw on CL for $175.00. However, I'm finding it difficult to determine the model and haven't had luck getting a response from the seller yet.

If anyone has any ideas I would be very appreciative.

Thanks

It looks like a 36-600, or a predecessor or successor to the 36-600. Not sure of the predecessor model #s, but the successor is called the TS300. If I'm correct, the 36-600 was a compact saw with leg stand that looks a lot like a contractor saw to the unsuspecting, but it's really not quite full size. It's 22"d x 38"w, and has a universal motor that uses a cog type belt, and weighs in at ~ 150#. It's not a bad starter saw...it's a step up from the lightweight benchtops with legs that many of us start with, but it's not at the level of a real contractor saw either. $175 is pretty high for what it is. $100-$125 is about all I'd pay.

Its a TS200

Not sure how I would know but hope mine is still here when he sells his. 120v 15A 4000rpm. I would agree with knotscott about it being a starter saw. I am currently looking for a better fence system and would prefer cast wings instead of the stamped ones that come on this one. That said it does a very good job if you have a good blade in it as all saws require. Hope this helps.

Thanks very much guys. I think your right, that its a 36-600.

drcollins, since it looks like you have the saw, what are your main gripes about it? Why are you looking for a new fence? Have you used a dado blade with yours? Do you have problems with the steel sides sagging? What about sawdust in the motor since its so close to the blade?

As far as quality, I'm stepping up from a 10" ryobi BTS10 that I bought as a starter saw from HD, so this seemed like a big upgrade to me. I'm a DIYer with a 1 car garage, so I need something easily movable. I want to use this saw for basic stuff, like building some garage cabinets and making outdoor furniture. Does this saw seem like a good fit?

Thanks much

The 36-600 was my first saw and did everything I asked of it. I ran a Freud SD208 dado set without problems, and even ran a full kerf 50T Freud LU84 combo blade. The steel wings never sagged on me, and I didn't have much issue with the fence that I recall. Since the table is only 22" deep vs 27" of a standard full size saw, aftermarket fences may be more difficult to fit. My issues were the noise, smallish size, and lack of weight, but the 36-600 should be both bigger and heavier than your Ryobi, and not any louder.

Have the same Dado Set as knotscott and have likewise had no problems. I just like a fence that is a little more rigid from front to rear but may not be able to find that. Haven't had any problems with sagging of the wings. I just prefer wings that will clear the sawdust instead of letting it build up. It hasn't been a problem but just a preference. Sawdust hasn't given me any problems but I usually have a dust collector on it when I am using it.
