Hi guys just thought I'd let you know that the Leonid meteor shower is this morning starting around 2:am and lasting till around 5:30am EST with its strongest peek at 4:am . They are saying there could be as many as 200-300 per hour at its peek in Asia but only 30-60 per hour in N. America. Viewing conditions are expected to be good this year in N. America because the Moon will not be lighting the sky. So if your like me leave the bar before LAST CALL and catch a great show.:eek: Don

My dad is restoring his old '62 Vette and also has numerous other projects ongoing. He asked me for some die grinder cut off wheels, 3" x 1/16 or 1/8 x .25 arbor. Anyone have any recommendations on good ones and where to get them? I assume they are like saw blades and have quality products and junk products, and I would like to get him some nice ones. Thanks in advance.
Example: coffee pot, refridgerator, radio, wow i have even seen a computer or two. I have a radio in my shop that is always on while i'm working on something but very seldom can hear it because of the noise from the power tools running.
You can chalk this thread up to getting up at 4:15am and too much coffee .

Norm has a new job driving a school bus.

If you watch PBS, there is a commercial or a promo on PBS. Big Bird goes to the door of classic New England home with an outside porch and takes a small girl on a journey. There are vignettes of Big Bird at famous events and places. Every now and then there is a vignette of the school bus and Norm is driving. It is kind of a cool promo.

Amazingly I haven't seen the promo on the LA station (KCET or KOCE) but I just saw it on KAET in Phoenix. It's odd because Phoenix is just promoting the three part Nova series 'Becoming Human' and I've already watched all three parts on KCET.

So after landing my new job as a Wal-Mart greeter, a good find for many retirees,
I lasted less than a day......
About two hours into my first day on the job a very loud, unattractive, mean-acting
woman walked into the store with her two kids, yelling obscenities at them all the
way through the entrance.

As I had been instructed, I said pleasantly, 'Good morning and welcome to Wal-Mart.
Nice children you have there. Are they twins?' The ugly woman stopped yelling long
enough to say, 'Hell no, they ain't twins. The oldest one's 9, and the other one's 7.
Why the hell would you think they're twins? Are you blind, or just stupid?'

So I replied, 'I'm neither blind nor stupid, Ma'am, I just couldn't believe someone
slept with you twice.

Have a good day and thank you for shopping at Wal-Mart.'
My supervisor said I probably wasn't cut out for this line of work.

The power source i used for this (sub) panel used to operate my pool heater, which has since been removed.
Kimbers online computer has had a bad fan for some

Kimbers online computer has had a bad fan for some
time. I was going to clean it and install a new fan
and reformat it as it reboots now and then on its
own. Mostly while playing a video or music. And
the fan would run on high about half the time
plus is came on when you weren't using the computer.

It is a $298 Wal Mart special. 3.0 cpu, 160gb HD,
1gb ram, SB 7.1 sound card and it came with all
the speakers. Not a bad little computer for the money. It did not come with a monitor.

So today was the day to do it.

I took the side cover off and the cpu fan and heat
sink were laying in the bottom of the case. The plastic
mount for the sink and fan had broken all four mounting
tabs.

So off to the shop. No longer available. Replace the
motor board, cpu, heat sink, fan and mount. Plus
the ram won't work on the new board so it needs
to be replace as well

Roughly $600 for parts and I do it myself.

No way Clyde!!!!!

I five minute epoxied the tabs back on and let it
set for a couple hours. Reinstalled with new grease.

The fan is fine, it was noisy because of it being on
the bottom of the case. It works fine now, the cpu
isn't over heating and causing the reboot. It is a
wonder the cpu didn't fry. It has been this way for
three or four month. Tough old Intel P4.

Next time, I will check things a bit quicker.

Same goes for power tools.

I was talking to a local guy today and couldn't help but notice the slight dialect of this area of New Jersey in his voice and it got me thinking of the country as a whole how we all share the same badge of being American, yet possess such neat little traits that set us apart. Some farther than others.

It might seem strange to some people that even a state as tiny as NJ has varying accents depending on where you are. In my experience if you held a compass point on NYC and spun it out west into NJ for about a thirty mile radius you would designate the strong detectable accent of what most people would call a NYC accent.

Extend that point to far western Jersey (only another 40 miles) and you now have a wierd Pennsylvania Dutch Philadelphia-thing going. This one always puzzled me and is what some of the natives in my area sound like.

South Jersey is an enigma in itself. They're called "pineys" for a reason and have the dialect to back it up.

I grew up smack in the middle as far as I've always believed, never had an accent until I moved to Florida for a few years. The natives pegged me in a heartbeat. Although it might have been because all I ever complained about was how much the pizza sucked down there.

I once asked a friend to freeze a pizza from one of my favorite places back home and have it FedExed to me. (True)

So what do you say grinder, hoagie, or sub?

Do people from deep woods Maine boggle and intrigue you too?

I know that accents for some are infectious and after a short stint in certain southern states I've had friends come home sayining "y'all" like it's always been part of their vocabulary!
